20 Things You Should Do Every Week in Children's Ministry

The Bible tells us to be faithful in the small things (Luke 16).  It is in the weekly tasks that your strength lies.  Do these things consistently week in and week out and you will build a prevailing Children's Ministry.
  1. Spend time with Jesus.
  2. Read God's Word...outside of what you are studying for a lesson.
  3. Spend time with your family.
  4. Take a day off.
  5. Read something that will help you grow as a leader.
  6. Ask someone to volunteer in Children's Ministry.
  7. Personally encourage 5 children with your words.
  8. Send a "thank you" note to a volunteer.
  9. Personally say "thank you" to a volunteer.
  10. Write down at least one thing you can do to improve the ministry.
  11. Spend time connecting and communicating with parents.
  12. Follow up with first-time guests.
  13. Communicate with your volunteers.
  14. Spend time pouring into a key volunteer or staff member.
  15. Make sure the rooms are clean.
  16. Attend the adult service.
  17. Make progress, even if it's a small step, toward any big event you have coming up.
  18. Evaluate the vital signs of your ministry (attendance, volunteers, parental involvement, small groups, discipleship involvement, etc.)
  19. Have 3 people proofread anything that is going out in print.
  20. Send a birthday card to a child in your ministry.
