RELEVANT CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

The New York Times reports that the fastest-growing religious affiliation in the United States is no religion at all.  That has meant an increase in parents raising their children outside of any religious affiliation.

This report is a wake up call for the church.  Like never before we must...

• Reach parents with the Gospel.  When you reach a child, you change a life.  When you reach parents, you change a family.  We must break out of our holy huddles and reach the families of our communities.

• Teach parents that they are called to be the primary spiritual influence in their child's life.  Proverbs 22:6 is still true.  Parents are responsible for leading their children in the way they should go.
  

• Equip parents to effectively pass on their faith to their children.

• Set up steps and pathways that parents can use to create a spiritual heritage.

Let's go.  We've got work to do.
