Not in Vain

Today we are celebrating Labor Day.  As I was thinking about Labor Day, I was reminded of a verse in the Bible that talks about labor.

"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58

Do you ever wonder if you're really making a difference?  Do you question if all the time, energy and prayers you've put into the ministry, have impacted the kids and families?  Have you ever felt like quitting because the kids were too overwhelming and you wondered if any of them understood or cared to understand what you were teaching them?

Has it been awhile since you heard the words, "Thank you.  You're making a difference in my kids' lives?"

We all want to know that the time we spend serving is really making a difference in the kids' lives.

If you're discouraged today or just need an extra word of encouragement, let's read that verse again.  It says...

"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58

Can I reassure you?  Your ministry is not fruitless...whether you can see it now or not...what you are doing is not in vain.  It is valuable.  It is honorable.  It is making echoes in eternity.

Because your ministry is so important...because it is so valuable to your church...because it is so crucial in the lives of kids and families...God says we should...

Stand firm.  Hold your ground.  When the evil one tries to push you away from what God has called you to do...stand firm.  Stand bold.  Stand in confidence.

Let nothing move you.  Don't let discouragement move you.  Don't let doubt move you.  Don't let fear move you.  Don't let lack of resources move you.

Give yourself fully to the ministry.  Don't hold back.  Go all out.  Go the second mile  Be sold out to God and His plans for your life.

One day, you'll be able to see clearly the huge impact you're making now.  I pray God will continue to pour out His blessings upon you and your ministry.
