I often talk about the fact that you and I are missionaries to kids. 

A missionary studies and learns the language of the people he or she is trying to reach.  The missionary also learns as much as he or she can about the culture, traditions, attire, food, and more.  

The more the missionary can learn, the more effective he or she can be.
