Every church reflects a culture. Some churches reflect a culture of the 1960's ...some reflect the culture of today. Sometimes they bash each other. Some of the churches that reflect a culture of the past say the churches that reflect today's culture are "liberal" or "watered down." Some of the churches that reflect today's culture poke fun of the churches who are trying to hold onto church culture of past decades.
I have served in churches on both sides of the spectrum. The journey that God led me on brought me to churches that reflect today's culture. But hey...I guess it takes all kinds of churches to reach all kinds of people. There are people who are reached by churches of a past culture. I don't think there is a right or wrong in this. You have to be who God has called you to be. As long as you are effective...then praise God! If doing church with a 1960's culture is working...then continue on! If it's not, then evaluation and changes may need to be made.
