Interactive and Participatory

I spent Sunday evening and Monday at Disney World. It was crowded on Memorial Day, but not as bad as I thought. We actually hit 3 parks...Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.

Something that stood out to me on this trip was two words...interactive and participatory. Many of the experiences had these two elements. Here's a few...

-American Idol experience - I voted on a keypad for who I thought would win. There was lots of crowd participation throughout the show.

-Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club - I could text in jokes that would be used during the show. Lots of interactive camera action in the audience and crowd participation.

-Spaceship Earth - I chose my future on an interactive touch screen that generated a video clip at the end with my picture in it.

Kids (and adults) don't want to just sit and listen to a lecture. They want a learning experience that is interactive and participatory. How about it? Are these elements in your Children's Ministry?
