We all face times when we simply don't know what to do as a leader. What should you do when that happens? Here are four principals I try to live by when I don't know what to do. (which is quite often)
1. Ask God for wisdom.
James tells us if we lack wisdom to ask God and He will give it to us. Spend time asking God for His insight and help. He will give you peace about what decision to make.
2. Ask advice from older, wiser counselors.
The Bible says in Proverbs that there is safety in the multitude of counselors. Don't let pride keep you from asking for help. When YOU don't know what to do, let it become WE know what to do.
3. Do the most loving thing.
Some decisions simply come down to whether or not you want to go the second mile to help someone. Let love rule.
4. Wait.
There is so much truth in the statement "When in doubt...don't." Don't decide too quickly. Wait when possible...this allows you to incorporate #1-3.
