Why You Should Have Volunteer Meetings with No Agenda

If you're going to keep volunteers for the long haul, then you have to build a personal relationship with them.  The relationship must move beyond being based solely on the "work" of the ministry.

One way to accomplish this is to have some volunteer meetings with no agenda...but fun.

Just hang out with your volunteers...eat...play some games...laugh...share personal stories...talk about life.

Consider hosting these meetings away from church property.  Go to someone's house, a park, a lake, or some other community place.

Be the first to arrive and the last to leave.  Don't be behind the grill cooking the hotdogs.  Find someone else to do that.  Spend your time talking and getting to know your volunteers.
