Want to make an impact on the next generation?
I believe that one of the keys is simply just showing up.
We are reminded of this in Scripture.
“The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!'" Matthew 25:23
You don't have to be extremely talented to make a difference.
You don't have to be an award winning singer to make a difference.
You don't have to have a college degree to make a difference.
You don't have to be an incredible Bible teacher to make a difference.
You don't have to have the most charismatic personality in the church to make a difference.
You don't have to have large portions of Scripture committed to memory to make a difference.
You see...here's the deal.
God is looking for people who are faithful to show up and make themselves available to be used by God.
The little preschool girl in your class looks to see if you are there each week when she walks through the classroom door.
The pre-teen boy who is in your small group feels a sense of security when he sees you there on Sunday.
The young couple who entrusts you to care for their new little one smiles when they see you waiting in the nursery.
The family that looks forward to seeing your smile at the entrance door as you greet, feels right at home when they see you.
The biggest factor in making an impact is simply showing up. When you place your life in Jesus' hands, you will be amazed by how much He uses your life.
Keep showing up. Keep showing up. Keep showing up.
Long-term impact comes from long-term faithfulness.
And by the way...the kids and parents that you minister to won't remember all of your lessons. They won't always be able to recall the memory verse you gave them to memorize. They won't always remember the worship songs you taught them.
But they will remember one thing...that you were there. Week after week. Month after month. Year after year. You were there. Serving faithfully.
Just...show...up and watch what God does.
