One of the best ways to help kids grow in their faith is to teach them how to share their faith with others.
Here's what Jesus says in Mark 16:15.
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation."
When kids actively obey this command it infuses their faith and helps them rely upon God and His Word.
Matthew 28 tells us this.
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
When children share their faith with others God promises to be with them.
Our job as leaders is to equip children with the tools they need to share their faith.
The Blab Lab series is a great way to do this. Each week the kids create a tool that they can use that week to share their faith.
One of the tools is the Gospel jelly beans. Here's how it works.
You take the sheet below and teach the kids what the jelly bean colors mean. The kids color the jelly beans in those colors on the paper. They also receive real jelly beans that they can use with this paper. I normally give them 2 of each. 1 to eat and 1 to give to the person they share their faith with.
I then challenge them to take the jelly beans and share them with someone as they explain the Gospel using the colors. The challenge is to share this with someone who doesn't attend church.
It might be a neighbor, a school mate, someone on their sports team, a family member or someone else in their life.
When the kids do this, it strengthens their faith and gives them boldness to share the Good News of the Gospel.
One girl in our church took this tool and shared the Gospel with her entire class at school during show and tell time.
