Guest SERVICEs. What is it all about? Look inside the name and you will discover the heart of guest SERVICEs.
Guest services is all about serving others.
It's about serving guests by parking in the worst parking spot so you can reserve the good parking for them.
It's about serving guests by meeting them at their car and holding an umbrella for them when it is raining.
It's about serving guests by providing clear, outside signage so they can easily know which part of the building to enter.
It's about serving guests by greeting them with a smile as they enter.
It's about serving guests by walking them to their correct rooms or event.
It's about serving guests by taking time to write out a personal note to them and then mailing it to them.
It's about serving guests by having a separate check-in area for them so they don't have to wait in line.
It's about serving guests by clearly explaining your safety and security process so they feel comfortable leaving their child in your care.
It's about serving guests by greeting them not only when they walk-in, but also when they walk out after the service is over.
It's about giving up your "favorite seat" in the church auditorium when needed, so guests can have a great place to sit.
It's about serving guests by smiling and speaking kind, welcoming words to them.
If you look at the life of Jesus, you will find that He modeled guest SERVICEs so well. In fact, His whole life can be summed up by two words.
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to SERVE others and to GIVE His life as a ransom for many. - Mark 10:45
Serve and give. That's what Jesus did.
Guest services is a great opportunity to live like Jesus by serving others and giving your time to make sure they feel loved and cared for.
My prayer is that each time you serve in guest services, you will remember that it's an act of service for Jesus. You are His hands and feet. Welcoming people to a service or event that can change their life for eternity.
Remember this...guests SERVICEs doesn't begin in the church service. It begins in the parking lot.
Guests won't remember everything about their first visit. But they will remember how you made them feel. Serve them well and you will see many of them return and become followers of Jesus.
Jesus modeled what guest SERVICEs is all about. One of the big times He did this was by washing the disciples' feet.
When you properly welcome guests into your ministry, you are welcoming Jesus as well. Look what it says in Mark 9:37.
Whoever welcomes one of these little children in My name welcomes Me; and whoever welcomes Me does not welcome Me but the one who sent Me.
Guest services is important to Jesus. If you want to have His presence and anointing on your ministry, then make it a top priority as well.
Will you join Jesus in this mission of serving others and loving them to Him?
