Each generation has unique characteristics and challenges that affects their church attendance patterns.
We know that children don't drive themselves to church. Their parents or another adult drives them there.
We must engage parents if we are going to engage children.
When parents are slack with their church attendance, it sends a message to their children that church is not a priority and is optional. If this continues, their children will grow up and treat not only church as optional but God as well. Look what it says in the Psalms.
“One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts…”
Every parent is called to pass on the faith to their children. When this doesn't take place, here is what happens...
"Eventually that entire generation died and was buried. Then another
generation grew up that didn’t know anything of GOD or the work he had
done for Israel." Judges 2:10
One generation failed to pass along the faith to the next generation. Parents. Spiritual leaders. Grandparents. They were not intentional about teaching the next generation about God. Wow. What a big miss this was.
The greatest responsibility for parents is to pass along their faith to the next generation. One generation telling the next generation about the goodness, mercy, and love of God.
We only have a short window of time to pass along the faith. Make it count!
